There are many different ways in which you can support the Friends of Bishop’s House and the House itself:
- Join us – As a friend you will receive copies of our newsletter and be invited to come and stay at Bishop’s House during Friends’ week – an opportunity to make new friends and enjoy the beautiful island of Iona
- Donate – You can now donate directly to the Friends of Bishop’s House on Just Giving. You may want to run your own local fundraising event or simply make a donation to support the work of the Friends. You can see how we use the money we collect and our current wish list, however if you would like to purchase a specific item please discuss this with the manager first.
- Help – Each year at the start of the season in March friends are invited to come and help get the house and garden ready for guests. Jobs include gardening, painting, cleaning, polishing etc.
- Volunteer – The staff of Bishop’s House are helped out by a couple of volunteers each year between March and October. If you could commit to staying for a few months (but not necessarily the whole season) taking part in the prayer, study and Eucharist of the house, and would be happy to work for 4 days each week in the kitchen and cleaning and making beds etc, in return for board and lodging, then please contact the manager.
- Pray – Please pray for us and the work of Bishop’s House. If you would like a prayer diary please let us know.
- Visit Bishop’s House – The chapel at Bishop’s House is always open, visitors are always welcome at our services, and there are also opportunities to stay with us as an individual or as part of a group
